How To Make Your Own Laundry Detergent

Making your own laundry detergent is easier than you think. Some people make their own to save money, some to protect their family from dyes and perfumes. Whatever your reason for making your own, Rural King makes it easy for you by carrying all the products you need.

Mix Grated Fels Naptha Soap with 6 cups of water in sauce pan, heat until soap melts.
Add washing Soda and Borax to Sauce Pan Mix. Mix Well until Washing Soda and Borax Dissolve
Pour 4 Cups of Hot Water into Bucket and add mixture from sauce pan.
Add another 1 gallon 6 cups of water and stir well.
Allow 24 hours for soap to gel.

Use 1/2 a cup of soap per load, recipe produces approximately 50 loads

*We recommend using a dedicated sauce pan for this recipe. Keep soap and ingredients out of reach of children and keep bucket sealed when soap is not in use. A double recipe may be produced with the Rural King 5 gallon Bucket.

I am very disappointed in the professionalism of Rural King. I will no longer shop there and will discourage anyone that I know to do the same. I have shopped at Rural King on a regular basis for many years, but never again. The Rural King in Clarksville, Tn has proven to be a terrible employer and business. Some of the managers at this location are extremely unprofessional towards customers and their own employees. My daughter was discriminated against and she and another employee were fired because my daughter was suffering from anaphylaxis (severe and life-threatening allergic reaction) and left work to go to the hospital. The other employee was fired for driving her to the hospital. Not only did this manager get on the radio in the store and make derogatory comments about how she was faking anaphylaxis, she belittled her to other employees of the store. Once released from the hospital, my daughter returned to Rural King with hospital discharge papers. This manager told her she was faking and was probably out joy riding with the other employee and fired them both. I found this to be uncaring and unprofessional for any manager. Shame on Rural King. I would like to see Rural King headquarters step and take a real good look at what is going on at this Rural King with their managers.
